Telkom connectivity down all over

After my last rant Telkom actually came to the party, they replaced my entire DSL cable from the junction in the road, ADSL was ok-ish for a week or two. I run a monitoring server that checks via SNMP and so I can see every second exactly what the link is doing. Then the line dropped..

I called to log a fault and the lady politely told me that the line was sync'd and if I wanted a call logged they would bill me. Being sure of my SNMP facts I said go ahead, make my day.

A day later a guy called me up and said mmm yes, the line is bust, one of the pairs was broken. So much for the initial statememtn of that the line is sync'd.

Here is the kicker though, since THAT repair my ADSL has never been better, I have had low latency and fantastc speed, man you could even stream 2 Netflix movies similtaneously, it was simply super. I was about to buy Telkom a box of chocolates but then today it was down again.

I logged a call at 7 am since my wife works from Home on a Friday, the lady told me they have a server failure and their technicians are looking at it. Try again at 10 am.

No problem I thought, I have a 3G router that my system fails to automatically if ADSL is down, problem is that Telkom 3G is also affected..

So actually if we any fault tollerence I guess I need to go to a different ISP.

Question is, Telkom, how long is this going to be down for?
