Telkom: Confirmed Cancellation, Still being billed
I have been attempting to cancel one of my land-lines since Dec. This was a secondary line I was using to help a friend out.
I initially went to a store at the Canal Walk shopping Center where the assistant told me cancellations were only done via email. I was handed a form and an email address where I had to submit the completed document with a copy of my ID or Passport.
I submitted the Documentation for the request on the 6th of December, on the 15th I received an email stating that this line could not be cancelled (without reason) and that I would have to resubmit the request. I resubmitted on the 18th (After the weekend). Later that day I received this email: "We hereby acknowledge receipt of your fixed line Consumer Contract and Services Cancellation/Retention Request. Your request will be attended to within 21 business days. We will endeavour to contact you to verify the information provided and/or confirm cancellation/retention options available."
I did not receive a bill for this number on the January invoice, but now I have been billed for January and February for this number. I have attempted to email and the option on the company's website for the last three weeks without any feedback or assistance. I will be out of country for a month soon and having this burden is utter nonsense.
