Telkom commit ***** and harmfull business practise with unauthorised NAEDO debit orders

The last instalment on 15 February 2020 was the 24th and last authorised debit order for an LTE data contract entered into with Telkom starting 1 March 2018 and ending 28 February 2020. Telkom sent me a few emails during February 2020 to advise me that I am due for an "upgrade" as of 1 March 2020, to which I have answered by return email requesting that they contact me with the various options available to me, to date and numerous further emails and sms's later I still have not received any reply. I went to the Telkom office at Hemingways shopping centre on 3 March 2020 personally to enquire about the options available to me, after considering the so called "upgrade" options on offer by them which was substantially more expensive and inferior to the fibre options being rolled out in my neighbourhood, I advised them that I will not be interested in their "upgrade" and that I will not continue any further with Telkom as my ISP any longer. I handed my LTE sim card to the Telkom consultant and left. Due to a previous similar experience with Telkom when I migrated from ADSL to LTE at the end of February 2018 and they continued for another 6 months odd longer to bill me and raise debit orders on my account, I stopped the Telkom debit order with Capitec on the same day to prevent a repeat of the same experience I had with Telkom 2 years ago. Telkom raised a further 2 debit orders with revised different reference numbers on two separate occations under NAEDO (Non authenticated early debit order) extension allowed by PASA (Payment Association South Africa) by changing reference numbers on the debit order upload file, both these debit orders were returned by my bank, Capitec, at a cost of R45 per trandaction to me. Various attempts were made to contact Telkom via email, sms and call centre regarding this issue to no avail.

Telkom abuses the debit order facility under the NAEDO extention allowed by PASA to retain customers against their will by continuing to debit bank accounts, the internet social media platforms are abound with complaints about the poor administration and incompetence of Telkom, this practise of abusing debit orders beyond authorised transactions constitute a harmfull business practise and Telkom should be prevented from continuing with this practise immediately. Telkom changed the references on the NAEDO uploads on each occasion in order to counter the rejection of the rejected debit order by Capitec bank, a practise which highlights ********** activity on Telkom, and constitute a ******** action by Telkom. I will proceed now by laying a charge of ***** against Telkom with my local SAPS station.
