Telkom, Come at me Bro!
After a long and tumultuous battle with telkom to cancel my telephone line (on 2 occasions) over the course of a year, i finally got to the point where i thought it was all fine.
A Telkom representative said that whatever outstanding monies had been settled on the account and that it could be canceled.
So yesterday, i need to get credit from my bank, and the application fails due to the fact that my credit score reflects that telkom still says i owe them 5 months worth of payments.
Shocked by this, i contact telkom to find out what the deal is only to be told that, yes, my line has been canceled but there is an pending amount of R101.12 still to be paid (how they got to that amount still confuses me)
So i go and EFT the money to telkom and wish to send the proof of payment off to someone at billing in order to get this sacred "Paid Up" letter. Upon inquiring with her, she says that i should email it to so and so from telkoms credit department etc, etc.
So she gives me a number and email address. I send the information and proof of payment off to them, and think to do a follow up call to acknowledge receipt of my mail.
The number she gave is ********** . This number goes to nowhere. Its just dead.
And then during the course of the day i thought i would get a response from the email i sent earlier today, but no, not even anything automated.
After calling the billing department, they told me that there was no alternative number or solution for me and that these applications can take up to 5 days to process.
So the only port of call was to spam this email address i received, with my message over and over and over again in the hopes that someone actually notices my plight.
Im just growing so tired of telkom and its disgusting and absolutely abhorrent service it provides, knowing that they can do what they want with their customers because of their monopoly on South Africa's telecommunications infrastructure.
