Telkom Clearly doesn't care about their customers
Telkom's service has taken a turn for the worst. After my internet went off a week ago after load-shedding. I decided to contact the Telkom Technical Department, the person on the other side of the phone, wasn't much help as his knowledge was very limited, and I mostly told him what to do (how do I know more than the technical consultant?) Because I have faced this same problem so many times before I know the steps to fix it by now. After a long useless effort, the consultant finally sees that my TIN is inactive... I don't know how he couldn't see this when he tested my line and saw that it's fine. After asking him to motivate why I should stay with Telkom and being told it's not his job, he referred me to the sales department to have my TIN reactivated. Speaking to the lady on the sales call she also saw that it is inactive and she reactivated it for me and when I asked her to motivate me to stay with Telkom she told me that I should migrate to and LTE line and that she will put the order in immediately gave me an order number and everything. She told me my internet will be on in about 20 mintutes to and hour. 2 hours later I phone the Technical department again to find out why my services have been restored, then suddenly they saw that my account is in arrears, something that would be very nice to know, as I don't deal with the account, but apparantly 2 people also missed the big red note on my account. Then after paying the account yesterday through the Telkom payment portal so that it reflects immediately, and after my services have been reactivated yesterday. Today I phoned sales to Sales to follow up on that order I mentioned, the one that I fount out now that couldn't have been done with my account in arrears (wonder where she got the order from) so I asked the sales lady (Amanda) to do the migration now and was told but the arrears amount is still on my account adn that I should phone the billing department to have it resolved. So here we go phonecall number 4 or 5 by now, to contact the billing department and to be told that it seems to be an error and that it will be escalated to IT and will be sorted out somewhere in the next 5 day. SO I can't do the migration yet and I am still stuck on inferior ADSL till heaven know when. But I luckily have already had a couple of wireless providers give me quotes and I have given Telkom till Monday to save me as a customer. Because I am tired and it doesn't seem like telkom cares about their customers.
