Telkom charges me after I cancelled contracts

I received a call from the lawyers of telkom called Debt -In indicating that I owe R4799,25. I then told them that I have no contract with Telekom cause I haven't renewed the contracts that I had with Eita when they expired. They then said that I should have a paid up letter stating that I have paid. I then said that I didn't know that if one cancelled a contract, a letter must be issued. I then told the lady that I would go to Menlyn branch cause that's where I cancelled everything. I then went to Menlyn telkom branch and was helped by Pule who opened my records and discovered that I have indeed cancelled the contracts and it was confirmed. To my suprise he told me that the system is showing that I'm owing 2903 which he couldn't figure out how cause both contracts were cancelled. I'm not happy cause my name is been sent for bad payer while someone did not do their job. I want clarity as to how fid I get to owe so much for so long without being notified and what was billed as I don't have any contract at all
