Telkom charged me R180.53 fee for their mistake!
I contacted Telkom on 16 July 2015 to inform them that I was changing banks and to update my debit order details. Bongani (the friendly consultant, who I even praised on their Facbeook page - too soon!) assured me that the change had been made and that my next invoice would be debited from my new bank account. Well, it wasn't, and the debit order OBVIOUSLY bounced. I received an SMS from Teresa stating that my account was in arrears (after sending several emails to Telkom explaining their error!) Teresa confirmed that Bongani had made a mistake and it should have come off my new account, but as it hadn't I was to make an EFT payment to settle the account. I did so immediately. Today, I received an invoice with a penalty fee of R180.53 for the bounced debit order. This is ridiculous, and there is no ways I should have to pay that. I have evidence of all of my calls and emails to Telkom and expect my account to be updated immediately with that penalty fee removed.
