Telkom Captured by Incompetency

I logged a complaint on the 6th of June, and almost 2 months later no-one from Telkom has called me regarding my problem. I am paying for a 90Mbps uncapped LTE connection but only receiving 2Mbps. I contacted them at least twice a week and left comments and got managers to escalate the issue and still no-one has contacted me.

My case nos are : ********** 7, ********** 4

I have no other avenues to persue other than naming and shaming these *********** *******s and spreading the word to anyone that is willing to listen that they will be making the biggest mistake of their life if they sign up with Telkom. I have now put a stop order on this account as Telkom have broken our agreement when they missed their SLA by more than a month. Rather pay more for the same service than allowing Telkom to make your life a missery.

Their call centre is appalling. You wait for hours, and then they hang up on you. They don't know how to solve any problems. Their employees don't want to work or be of assistance. But they just want your money!!! I spoke to Nokuthula Ngozo (Call Centre manager) and she made all these beautiful promises just to get you off her back, but nothing materializes.

Good day

Please be advised that it is the fair usage policy if you have exceeded 10GB the speed will be throttled by 128pkb. Kindly follow the link below for more information. http://www.timeslive.co.za/thetimes/2016/09/19/Telkom-changes-tune-on-uncapped-data.

Reviewer Update

I just received a reply from Thokozani from Telkom Social Media Team who clearly have not done their homework before replying to me. I was told that I am paying R799 p/m for a uncapped service that throttles me when I exceed 10Gb per month. Thokozani you are in the wrong industry because clearly you don't have a clue how much 10Gb is. With a speed of 90Mbps I can download 10Gb in 1 hour. So you telling me I am only covered for 1 hour a month?

Then why do you (Telkom) sell a product where I can get 20Gb day + 20Gb night with modem and extender for R299? Do you really think customers will rather pay R799 for 10Gb than the 40Gb option for R299. Your maths are pathetic.

Please have a look at my account on your system and you will see that I have never exceeded more than 180Gb p/m (How was I even able to download 180Gb a month if you throttle me after 10Gb?). I got this extract below from your website. Can you please speak to Jacqui O'Sullivan before replying to me again.

“Effective immediately, customers making use of the LTE Uncapped product will receive an additional 100GB of full speed data per month,” said Telkom’s head of group communication and PR, Jacqui O’Sullivan. “This means that customers would have to use in excess of 300GB of data per month before Telkom’s FUP will be app****.

Another thing, even if I was throttled after 10Gb, why have I not received the speeds I used to get which is 80Mbps for 2 months? Surely I will then get 10Gb each month unthrottled. Also please read the fine print section of your webpage for the uncapped LTE. It clearly states that the customber will be notified(before they are throttled) if they are compromising Telkom's network. Please have a look at my account and show me any proof of notifying me that you are throttling me. When I call your call centre and ask them whether I am throttled, the answer is no. So please share with me, where do you get your info from?

Can you please stop talking nonsense and get a competent technician on my case asap! Is that really asking for too much? After you take R799 from me each month and give me nothing in return?
