Telkom Cancellation Struggles
Having this issue with Telkom since March 2020 where at my parents house in Newcastle, they refused to maintain their copper lines since December 2019. So they had internet and telephone issues starting mid December 2019. You'll phone, log calls and then wait. The line will come up again for a day or two, then just drop - both telephone and ADSL lines, there were two telephone lines in the house. So you'll log a call again with ISP (Axxess at the time) and they'll see what ever they see on their end and update the call. Eventually the calls were closed with some error about the wrong username and password on the router, as they could not see any activity, until 26 February 2020, when the ISP informed me that Telkom will no longer be maintaining the copper in that area in Newcastle and that they would need to offer alternative solutions to their clients. So needless to say I requested the line and the ADSL service to be cancelled - the line rental and ADSL was with Axxess. About a week after the ISP let me know that they cancelled, I phoned Telkom to cancel the line, which, technically wasn't really a necessity, as they don't maintain the copper wires anymore, so technically a service breach on their side, but still... They promptly discontinued my parent' phone line, without ANY prior discussion from my parents and brought the sim phone to be used as a landline replacement phone. No paperwork needed, no cancellation required, the techie just popped in, brought the new sim phone for them and that's it. Now this brings me to my problem... I've been harassed by Telkom now for over two years, where they'll send me invoices for a line, that they cannot supply and I cannot use, that has been cancelled by my previous ISP and by myself. I have made numerous phone calls about this and every time I speak to one of the numerous *********** staff, I either, cannot be helped and I just drop the chat or the call or I simply get disconnected by them. I have more reference numbers than brain cells at the moment and still, I get emailed invoices for a line that they cannot provide since 2020. Even if you go on ANY ISP site and use their coverage map, ADSL is NOT AVAILABLE at that address, yet here I am getting emails about line rentals that is physically impossible... I'm using Telkom fixed LTE at that house, because of their uselessness and inability to service their own infrastructure. So this is my final attempt to save you, TELKOM, time and money... I WILL NOT PAY FOR SOMETHING I DO NOT HAVE or CANNOT USE. Keep sending me invoices, black list me. We will see each other in court, simple... The ball is now in your court...
