Telkom - Cancellation Nightmare
As I had not had any service for over a month on my land line and ADSL, I sent a cancellation letter to ********** on the 16h February 2017, and continued to pay the account until October 2017, but instead of receiving money back for paying for months after cancellation and despite being handed over to a collection agency (who reviewed documentation supp**** and referred the matter back to Telkom) I am still receiving accounts for this.
I took on a subscription for LTE (as the probable cause of all the outages was due to cable theft) and have had no problem with that. I am a long time supporter of Telkom (20-30 years) and would love to solve this matter amicably, but I am at my wits end - its coming up for 2 years now that this matter has been going on and I just do not know what to do besides writing to the Consumer Complaints Commission or taking the matter further legally.
Numerous people (Telkom staff at the help line) have tried to assist in this cancellation, but have obviously failed, although the last couple of people have said they have cancelled it - which they probably have as the bill was about R800 pm - now they are charging me about R300 per month for something called "TIN" - I now owe them R6500, over and above the 8 or 9 months of R800 payments for a service that was non existent! I should be receiving a refund for R6400, but I am overdue by R6500, on an account that should no longer exist.
Somebody please help - maybe an email address of someone in upper management would help?
