TELKOM CANALWALK CAPETOWN DOES *****
Dear Sir/ Madam,
Hope this email finds you well.
On the 16th of November i sent an email to the store manager, the email was as follows.
On the 19th of October 2024, we came to the store for phones upgrade a gentleman by the name of Zainul Mohideen assisted us.
Furthermore, he asked if we wanted insurance. We then asked how much that would cost. He told us that it would be r208. However, we did NOT go through the terms and conditions of the insurance as he told us the system was offline, but he would make sure he sent us the document to go through, sign and send it back to him. We agreed.
Later that same Saturday, we then emailed to remind him about sending the documents which he didn't acknowledge the email.
On Sunday he sent us a signed insurance document (which he signed on our behalf, to our own understanding, that's ***** because we never said we wanted the insurance, but we were waiting for him to send the papers for us to go through before we could decide if we were taking the insurance or not).
After he sent a signed document with a **** signature of mine, we then emailed him asking him why the figures were not the same, as he advised us that the insurance would only be r208. He then rep**** by saying it was just ESTIMATED figures. We then told him, never even once you mentioned, "estimated" the time we were in the store as him and his colleague checked on the placard behind them in the store, and he never rep**** to our emails.
Further to that, we emailed him to advise him to cancel what he signed us for (insurance) with immediate effect and he still didn't reply.
We then called Telekom insurance to tell them the story and asked them to cancel it, because we were not and still not sure if they did or not.
We received a billing letter and the amount is insane. It's almost r2000 of which we will never pay because we never agreed on any insurance as we didn't sign anything that had to do with it.
Please advise us on this matter before we go open a case as one of your staff members did *****ulent activity, and it makes us wonder how many customers he did this too? All in the name of making sales.
We are such loyal customers to Telkom, and we don't want anything to mess up our credit records, since we are not going to pay that extra r600 for the insurance we didn't agree on, meaning our credit will be impacted.
Above I've attached screenshots of our conversation between us and Zainul as well as the insurance document he signed on our behalf.
Awaiting response.

Good day,
Hope this email finds you well.
So since I took out the contract 19/10/2024 and your sale consultant Zainul Mohideen to ***** my initials on the insurance documents:
I have been to 3 stores, including the canal walk branch twice. called you call centre numerous times. Emailed you as the store Manager AND still no reply or success on this matter,it's clear you choose not to deal with this amicably.
I will go lay a ***** case against your employee then I will send the case number as soon as I get it.
