TELKOM CAN SIMPLY NOT GET IT RIGHT!!!
I moved house on 1 November 2015 and requested that my Telkom line be moved as well from this date. This was done. However, at my old address, I had an optical fibre line and at my new address, a DSL line, since optical fibre cables has not been installed in the area of my new residence yet. In stead of cancelling my fibre line and down grading me to DSL, Telkom just added the DSL line to my account. As a result, I have been charged for both lines since 1 November 2015. On about my 7th attempt at calling 10210, a very helpful lady, Stacey, helped me. She logged 2 calls: ***7 (cancellation of the fibre line) and ***5 (for the credit on my account for the 4 months I was incorrectly charged for the fibre line - R2547.01). When I followed up last week, the fibre line was still active (for which I am still being charged!) and the credit due has shrunk to only R744 (1 month in stead of 4). I was given the name of Lionel Steyn whom I can contact at ***. The 1 out of 100 times this number is not engaged, it just rings with nobody answering. And to top it all, after all the trouble I've had this far, it seems the fibre line is still registered to my old address!
