Telkom can not force anyone that is on a singed contact to change to fibre REPORT TELKOM TO ICASA ASAP

Well I'll start by saying I'm just laying this complaint to get a case number for ICASA.

Let start with a 24 month contract is a 24 month contract and non of the parties can back out of the contact before the 24 months has expired.

I have been met with this wonderful email from telkom: Dear Customer As part of our network modernisation process, Telkom is migrating from old copper infrastructure to wireless and fibre services. These new services will offer greater reliability, faster internet speeds and a consistently better-quality service. As you fall within fibre coverage, you have the option to migrate your voice and internet services to Fibre broadband. Please note one of our friendly sales consultants will be contacting you shortly, Please find below packages: - Fibre 10Mbps, 20GB SoftCap data @ R463 o 10Mbps speed o 20GB SoftCap data o R463 o No contract o Free Installation and connections o Free Wi-Fi router - Fibre Unlimited Lite -10Mbps, Uncapped Data @ R649 o 10Mbps speed o Uncapped data o Standard voice line o R649 o No contract o Free Installation and connections o Free Wi-Fi router o Free Lit (24month contract) - Fibre Unlimited Home -10Mbps, Uncapped Data @ R807 o 10Mbps speed o Uncapped data o Unlimited Calling plan o R807 o No contract o Free Installation and connections o Free Wi-Fi router o Free Lit (24month contract) Please be advised that should you not wish to move onto Fibre, we will unfortunately be discontinuing existing copper services in your area within the next 30 days. You will receive a call from Telkom within the next couple of days to confirm the cancellation date of your services. Kind Regards Trisha Ramlal

I just got off the phone with ICASA just now and spoke to Ntsheni who was shocked at the fact that telkom is forcing me to change my plan while under contract. As she is standing ready just awaiting my case number to have a field day with Telkom again.

My wish is that all consumers know about ICASA and Telkom can be fined so hard that they can actually think of treating their consumers fairly.

you want to change my package from R599 for: o 4Mbps speed (ADSL) to 10Mbps Fibre (witch i did not request as per email) o Uncapped data o Unlimited Calling plan - want to remove my free calling and line rental) o and charge me instead of R599 - R807

As ICASA stated I have the right according to my 24 month contract with you to insist that Telkom keeps my service the same until my contact expires or move to the 10mbps fiber but still give me the same other benefits as i had at the same R599, should you not comply with my request ICASA would imply fines like you know but I also have the right to sue Telkom for bridge of contract.

ICASA was schoked to hear that I get advised that I can cancel my contract but will lose my deposit and will be changed a cancellation fee.

To be very clear the only way this matter would be resolved is if you keep me on my ADSL package as it until my contract expires or you can change to fiber but I want the same benefits and not pay a single sent more

May I please have my case number as soon as possible that i can have ICASA on the case ASAP as I don't want to sit without service.

Regards Mr Bezuidenhout
