Telkom Call Centres a waste of time

I have been with Telkom for years but the service I received from your call centre was very unknowledgeable and downright disgusting.

I have been having signal problems in Brookdale for a year. You'll did try to sort it out but to no avail. I finally decided to cancel my contract. The branch in Phoenix Plaza was under renovation, so I called the Call centre. I called on 27/28 November. I was advised by Siphesihle that my last payment was on 21 November 2025, as she said that I pay in advance and that I would still be able to use the data for December 2025. That no more payments would come out of my account. This was not correct information. You can listen to the telephonic conversation.

As on 27 December 2025, another payment of R220.54, came out of my account. I did not budget for this as I had already moved to vodacom.

On 5 January 2026, I phoned the call centre again, spent an hour on the call. Spoke to Thuli, who advised me my account was not canceled as per my request. And i would have to pay for December R220.54 + January 2026 R220.54 installments.

Why has this become my problem, when I advised Siphesihle to cancel my contract in November 2025. According to Thuli, it's not correct information and that Siphesihle did not convey the correct information to me. This is utter nonsense, Telkom needs to give it call centre workers the proper training and knowledge about procedure. If she had told me I was liable for December installment, i would have accepted it. But she told me the opposite information and i used the data based on information provided to me by her. I also requested Thuli and Kanuwelo to get a manager to call me but no manager has callled me as yet and its Friday, 9 January.

I also went on 8 January to Telkom Phoenix, i was advised that my contract still has not been cancelled. So that means Thuli and Kanuwelo also did not do their jobs. Absolute nonsense Telkom
