TELKOM BUSINESS LINE INTERRUPTION WITHOUT NOTICE

I made an application for my Telkom business line to be transferred to a new suburb approximately two months in advance. I clearly stated that I want no business interruption in terms of landline communication for this process to take effect from 01 December 2016.

I discovered during the week of Monday 28 November 2016 that my business line has been very quiet during this period.

I dialled my landline number and was absolutely horrified at what I was hearing. "The number you have dialled does not exist anymore, please redial carefully or consult directory enquiries".

I contacted Telkom and was told that my business line will be interrupted if relocating to a new suburb.

This was definitely NOT communicated to me and I clearly stated that no business interruption is to take

place. Had I known this, I would have made alternate arrangements.

It is the busiest time of the year and no business would want any interruptions at all, especially where

landline communication is concerned. I definitely lost business during this time and me as the business owner must suffer the losses as a result of inexperienced and lack of communication from staff that are

inadequately trained.

As a small business, losses like this have a far reaching and deeper effect than meets the eye and recovery is a longer process too.

I would love to see the reaction of these people concerned, if deductions were made off there salaries because of incompetence of others.
