Telkom breaking the law

I took two contracts for two Huawei P9 lites from the Fourways Mall branch of Telkom. One of the phones had a clearly defective battery so I took it back on the 7th day for a replacement, only for the staff to tell me that they cannot replace it because the supervisor was not in and I had to come back two days later, which I did. At this point, the supervisor insisted that the phone will be repaired because Telkom does not do replacements even if the product is defective (in contravention with Consumer Protection Act Section 56 subsection 2). I gave my phone in for repairs with them and after two weeks, had no feedback so I went in to the store, only to be told that their repair service provider had given them the incorrect report (for a MateS) and that I owed R2000 for the repair of a brand new phone because the LCD screen was cracked. The supervisor has agreed that when he sent the phone in, there was no issue with the LCD screen but I have heard nothing further since.

I am so tired of Telkom's complete disregard for the law and customer satisfaction.

To be clear, should the store not have given me a reference or job number when they booke the phone in for repairs? Please understand that the store is not helping me and this is why I want to speak to someone higher up who can get this issue fixed.

Still no feedback. Seems like Telkom's incompetence knows no limits.
