Telkom Breaching contract but charging the client for the breach.
Mt Telkom ADSL line stopped working as there is cable fault in the area which Telkom say they will not repair any copper lines going forward. Fibre is not installed in my area and the LTE tower has reached its capacity therefore Telkom technical have advised me telephonically that their is no alternative that can be provided. Telkom technical then requested that I call Billings to advise. Billings have put in a request to cancel the line. Reference number - ***A. I have since received a bill to pay for the cancellation of the contract of R559.71. If Telkom is in breach and cannot provide an alternative,- why am I being charged for a cancellation fee? Furthermore , during my telephonic discussion with Billings, I highlighted the fact that I was still being billed for a non-operational Telphone land line since last year Oct 2019, although the problem was reported a fault logged. Telkom have the audacity without even contacting me ,to send an sms indicating "fault resolved" when non of the services were restored. These are faults reported below: 72CNK111019, 173BNK201019, 836515, 16CNK130420, Disputes- ***5,***6. Cancellation Request number: ***A. I have been given the run around between Billings, Sales and Technical. Its extremely difficult to get someone at Telkom to help until your case is resolved and closed. Poor, pathetic service. I will never use Telkom for any service irrespective of price, going forward. Telkom - you should close your doors for business. You are doing society an injustice by being open and emotionally scaring your clients for life due to the putrid service you provide.
