Telkom bills for non-existent landline.
As I did not have need for my landline any longer, on August 19th, 2019 I filled in the necessary information online requesting cancellation of my landline. I received an sms from Telkom on August 21st, stating the following (I still have the sms): Telkom Cancellation Case: ***9 has been logged for service ***. This was followed by another sms stating the following: Dear Customer, We acknowledge your request to cancel your services. we are busy working through the application and one of our agents will be in contact with you before close of business....(too long). I received a call from them much later where the operator confirmed which of the 2 landlines I was cancelling and I confirmed ***. I checked shortly thereafter and confirmed that my landline had been disconnected. Since August 2019 have been receiving monthly statements even though I informed them that my line had been disconnected. Earlier this year, when receiving one of the accounts I noticed that I had been billed with a re-connection fee. How on earth can you re-connect a line which had been cancelled and that without a re-connection fee? So the statements keep coming month by month... I am at my wits end to sort this out but to no end...
