Telkom billing mishaps!!
So I got a new contract with Telkom it's not even 15days old a test debit of R579 was already debited from my account which I don't have a problem with as the consultant explained. I received my phone in the afternoon on 31st of May that I did not activate yet until the 2nd of June when I went to the store to port from mtn to telkom. Now I have received a statement charging me for May and June. Now my debit order is close to 1100. I don't have that much money to be paying on a contract just laying around. So since I received the invoice I have been calling the call center asking for the recording of when I made the order so I can dispute these other amounts for may the consultant assisting me did not tell me I will be paying a full amount for the month of May although I got the phone on the last day otherwise had she explained this to me I was simply going to ask that my phone be delivered in June. Who wants to pay a full amount charged for a month with a product she only had for a day. I have been calling the call center to no avail, I have been promised to be called back but nothing. Also a consultant called Thobeka Biyela called me stupid when she told me to call 10210 and select option 1 then option to I told her when I get to that option there is an automated voice that tell me my bill amount and when is it due then hangs up I cannot get to speak to a consultant she said it's not possible so I tell her OK then transfer me to the billing department because when I dial I get the automated voice she said she could not so I asked her now what is my way forward she says she doesn't know and I ask her u just told me you are a senior consultant if as a senior consultant you do not know then who is supposed to know these things. I was with mtn and I honestly regret moving to telkom. I called to check how cancelation works and fees there off and if I want to cancel I'd be expected to pay close to 12000 so I'm stuck with this nonsense service. I mean as a client they needed to have explained to me all the fees and money that will be included she explained a pro rata but failed to explain where it will work she made it sound to me that the pro rata is on the whole debit for the month instead of explaining its only calculated on the data fees only and I saw on the statement a pro rata amount for data for the month of May which is a surprise to me since I had not used the phone or even activated the sim on the day I received it on 31st May.
