Telkom = Bad Service

I reported a fault with Telkom nearly 4 weeks ago.

Two of those weeks I was without internet access causing havoc to the business I run from home. One day I get a message to say my fault had been closed, I found the technician with my fault and proved that he had done nothing to correct the issue.

He found cable had been ****** after using a tone generator and going to look for the issue. He managed to get my internet connection back up and running but only at a 1.5mbps line sync (I pay for 4mbps which is easily attainable)

He then said he would look further into the matter to correct the line speed which he never did and left the fault as closed. I later contacted telkom to have the fault reopened and the entire fault has been running near to 4 weeks with bad service.

I then spoke to the area manager (Eddie) for Primrose, Germiston who was most unhelpful in this matter. Not seeming to care whatsoever if the line had been corrected nor if a Telkom customer was actually satisfied with the service being given.

I realize that telkom is a best effort service however, would it not be better to contact the people who have opened the faults to at least update them on the faults and give a timeline as to when it could possibly be fixed?

My family and I are now considering taking a contract with a wireless provider because telkom is just taking far too long to correct this issue.

Do yourself a favor if you report faults, phone them every two days to badger them to fix the issue, that's the only way telkom will actually fix your problems.
