Telkom Bad service
Complaint Regarding Bad Practice & Service Failure (Refusal to Log Dispute) On 22 April 2026, I formally requested Telkom to log a dispute regarding an R800+ charge for service fees billed to my account during a period when my line was actively suspended (February to April 2026). Telkom agents failed to raise or log this dispute on their system. This is a direct breach of customer service mandates and denied me the right to a fair billing investigation. 2. Complaint Regarding Misinformation & Contradictory Account Status Telkom's internal systems and communications are entirely contradictory, causing severe prejudice to my financial standing. On 8 May 2026, I received written confirmation from Relebohile Seemise (Escalation Desk, Ref: CRM_***) stating that my "Account is up to date." However, upon receiving a sudden suspension text and calling the helpline today, I was informed that my account was allegedly handed over to collections on 5 May 2026. It is administratively impossible and highly ********* for Telkom to hand an account over to collections on May 5th, confirm the account is "up to date" in writing on May 8th, and then suspend the line weeks later. 3. Complaint Regarding the R800+ Rebate & Rejected Funds In an effort to resolve the hardware costs and my May premium, I made a good-faith manual payment of R3,883.89 via credit card. Furthermore, a debit order of R1,084.26 was deducted from my bank account. Telkom agents are now claiming this debit was "rejected" on 25 April 2026. However, this contradicts their 8 May 2026 resolution stating my account was up to date. The dispute regarding the R800+ rebate for services not rendered during my line suspension remains completely unaddressed by their billing department. Summary of Violations: Charging for services while the line was suspended. Failing to log a requested formal dispute on 22 April 2026. Providing written confirmation that an account is "up to date" while simultaneously sending it to collections. Suspending my line based on flawed internal accounting. Desired Resolution: I request ICASA's immediate intervention to compel Telkom to: 1 Immediately lift the suspension on my line. 2 Provide a full ledger audit and process the R800+ rebate for the months my line was suspended without network access. 3 Locate and properly allocate the missing funds or formally prove the debit rejection with a banking trace. 4 Issue a formal clearance letter removing my profile from any collections agency, as the handover on 5 May 2026 was done erroneously while the account was in dispute.
