Telkom Bad Customer Service

Good day. My name is Mpho Masello and I have a complaint with the poor customer service that I have been receiving from TelkomZA.

I took up a contract with Telkom on the 19th of November 2016 and around some time in December 2016 I called in to the Customer Service Centre and asked to have my spending limit permanently reduced to R10 which was supposed to be effective from the month of January however this did not happen because the system was apparently undergoing maintenance at the time and as such they could not perform that command because it gave them error message. I then got a call on the 3rd of January 2017 from a Telkom Call Centre Consultant by name of Zanele Bukali who first apologise for the inconvenience caused and then said that given that the spending limit could not be adjusted on my account for reasons stated above I will not be held liable for the cost that will occur on the spending limit set to R500 however I will have to pay for phone call made to none Telkom numbers but this does not apply for data use incurred on the spending limit. I asked her time and time again to get clarity if I will be held liable for using the spending limited allocated on data and she continuously said I will not.

On the 4th of February I got an invoice emailed to me that I have to R782.00 which is inclusive of money spent on the spending limited which I was promised that I will never held accountable for. I immediately called Telkom Customer Care Centre and launched a case to dispute the Bill and I was given a case number ( ********** 4). After sometime Zanele Bukali called me and she totally denied everything we spoke about on the call we had on the 3rd of January 2017. I asked that she listen to the recording of our phone call and to also share with me the recording so we can have a way forward and resolve this matter. She then sent me an email on Feb 10, 2017 at 12:26 PM stating "Good day. Trust all is well. I listened to the call recording however it can only be sent to you via our legal advisors". I then sent an email on Fri, Feb 10, 2017 at 12:31 PM which reads “Good day Zanele. What conclusion did you come up to? What did you gather from our telephone conversation?” She never rep**** to my email I then sent another one on Tue, Feb 14, 2017 at 10:45 AM which reads “Good morning Zanele Bukali. I am still awaiting for your response as per my correspondence sent 4 days ago. I am also trouble by understanding your reasons for closing the case while the isn't any common ground on the matter and no solution. Did not even give me a proper feedback. I had to ask for it and even so, you are no responding to my emails. I got an SMS stating that my case has been closed; what were your reasons for taking that action. I asked you to share the outcomes of the telephone call we had on the 3 on January 2017 as you promised to listen to the recording and get back to me. I am really not satisfied with the way you are handling this issue. Kindly reply to my request in accordance, preferably via email.”

I have not received any email or any correspondence on the matter to this day. I have been ignored and nobody is willing to help except a consultant at Telkom Cresta Mall Branch who have been emailing and calling a lady by the name of Gloria Mashego who was supposed to call me on the 8th of March 2017 but never did.
