Telkom at it again
I am an ADSL customer with Telkom I was contacted early in November by a call service agent and told that Telkom is migrating ADSL customers to their wireless offering. I told the agent that my address shows no coverage for wireless connection on their "Check my Coverage" site. I also told the agent that I was a subscriber with 8ta before, which used the same Telkom infrastructure , and had to migrate to ADSL because the wireless service was non-functional in my area. The agent insisted that they can offer wireless connection in my area and offered to send a technician out to asses the wireless coverage ai my premises. I agreed and a technician came to my premises- he was there on three different days trying different routers and communicating with Telkom. He concluded that the wireless signal was not strong enough for the service required. 3 weeks later, my ADSL line suddenly goes down. I call the service team to report the fault and am told the I have been migrated to the wireless offering. This is without my consent. The service department cannot help and i am told to call the sales department . The sales call center tells me there is nothing they can do and logs another ticket for me - I am now paying for a service that I do not have and for which I did not consent. I have tried to get hold a someone more senior by the call center operators block any attempt as escalation.
