Telkom are *******!!!!! Facilitating unauthorised debit orders!

If I could give a negative score, I definitely would. I signed a Wifi contract with Telkom, I pay R769 per month. I always pay about 4 or 5 days in advance. I payed last month and now I am due end of this month as well. Some months they just decide to debit and amount that was not agreed on. Last month they debited R971(after payment was made and reflected on their side). They never called to say that I have an amount in arrears or if they going to switch the Wifi off because I owe them, none of that. Now I have debit collectors calling me on behalf of Telkom to say I owe Telkom, so I told them my payment date has not yet arrived and I will only pay when I recieve my salary. They think we have money to give away, an additional R971 to just give away??!!! Who the hell do they think they are.

According to the bank, even if you stop their debits, they can just change the reference number and just change the amount each time. Hence when you stop the debit order, it doesn’t work. If they change a detail in the previous order (like a diff amount), then they can still debit.

I hate this company so much!!!! Cant wait to finish this contract and I am so glad I never took other contracts with them because I was really considering taking something else.
