Telkom Are Theives - Breech of Contract!!!

After signing a 2 year (24 month) LTE contract with Telkom in February 2015 I returned to one of their Gateway branch in February 2017 to upgrade my contract.

First of all, stepping into any Telkom store is like walking barefoot through Mordor wearing only a Speedo that's on fire. What a disgustingly sad place to spend the weekend. Every person in the store was complaining. Some were shouting, others looked forlorn and hopeless, and some - obviously hysterical from their endless trips to Telkom to sort out the simplist of issues - laughed maniacally in the faces of their hapless consultants.

After waiting for about a century, I finally reached the counter and asked the consultant very politely to upgrade my contract (what on Earth was I thinking) to which she rep**** - "No, you can't because 'the system' says you have a 3 year contract and you are not within the upgrade period".

Expecting some sort of issue, I produced a hardcopy of my contract. Unfortunately, despite how clearly the contact stated the FACT that the contract EXPIRES after 24 months, she was utterly bamboozeled.

No surprises there.

She then told me that she could not resolve the issue in store and that I would have to contact customer care...which I did, and in true Telkom style their CUSTOMER SERVICE consultant told me I need to resolve the issue in-store.

Can you see my problem? Now I'm left with nowhere to turn and a horrfic and *********** parastatal sticking their grubby, ******* fingers into my bank account for the last two months (R339 per month) to help themseleves to my hard earned cash.

The only solution they offer is to pay them a R900 cancellation fee for a contact that has already expired! Are you kidding me?!?!?!?!?!

I put a stop order on Telkom's debit order on my account in February and I have STILL been debited for this *******ly!!! But that's another "South African customer service success story" which I will take up with my evidently useless banking provider.

Telkom South Africa, if you have the ***** (or the brains for that matter) to actually drag yourselves out of your filthy money grabbing wallow and tell me who I can talk to to get this issue sorted out then surprise everyone and show me that there is someone in that intellectual wasteland with a glimmer of intelligence.

I have never had to deal with a more despicable bunch of useless losers in my life. To anyone considering using Telkom for anything... DO NOT put yourself through the dismal customer service, the relentless runaround and the dumbfounding incompetence that you will undoubtedly encounter. It's just not worth it.

Telkom, you honestly make me sick.

Give me back my money, stop charging me every month and get your pathetic, abhorrent company out of my life once and for all!

Looking forward to a response from your Retentions Team. Hopefully this issue will be sorted out swiftly.
