Telkom and Selldirect are ********

Selldirect offered me a Telkom internet contract renewal which I accepted and was set to receive a new router. This was during June 2018. It was not made clear to me that I was not dealing directly with Telkom. When some time passed and I heard nothing further from them I phoned Telkom to ask what as going on with the renewal. Telkom then assisted me to renew my contract and made no mention that I was meant to call Selldirect. Telkom then activated my renewal and sent me the new router. I must mention that I did not need or want a new router and told everyone this. yet they insisted that the router forms part of the renewal and I must take it. Today 30 August 2018 Selldirct calls me and tells me that my renewal never took place and I cannot review my contract at the price initially quoted. I must now accept a more expensive contract. Apparently the renewal could not go through as my Telkom account was in arrears. They offered to renew my contract WHILE I was in arrears but never told me that this would preclude the renewal from being activated AND they sent me a router leading me to believe that the renewal was active. I also had internet since my supposed renewal. So now I must either chose pay for the router and take different internet from another provider OR renew my contract at a more expensive instalment. I cannot return the router as I opened the box and the sales person from Selldirect told me today that I should not have opened the box as I should have known that I was using month to month internet and was not on my new contract. How I should have known this is not clear at all as there was never any reasons to suspect that the renewal did not go through because I had received the router and had internet and money was taken from my account. Also he claims that they contacted me to tell me about this before my CPA cooling off period expired but I never received any sms, call or email from them. They are able to call me and email me when they want money or when they want to force me to take out a more expensive contract but not when they could have warned me that the renewal cannot co thorough. And also, how could Telkom confirm a renewal that never could have taken place and how could Selldirect then send me a router?????? This is just a **** and theft.
