Telkom **** and Pillage Dead Peoples Estates

My Mother-In-Law died in October 2015. In November I notified Telkom personally at the Greenstone Telkom Branch that they should close her line at the Old Age complex where she lived and wind up her account. Nothing happened. On 24 February 2016 I sent them a comprehensive mail reminding them of the need to close down the line and wind up the account. It is now August 2016, the account has mysteriously grown by R1552.35 even though a new line was installed for the new incumbents at her unit. Nobody at Telkom is prepared to help. They just laugh and remind me that they will claim from her estate. Acct No: ********** 20001

This is the problem. I have sent both Death Certificates to Telkom upon request. Telkom doesnt even acknowledge that when RE Kramer died it transferred upon notice from his widow, the account to her name, using her bank account for monthly payments. However those facts are not relevant. Upon request from Telkom, after posting this complaint, I again sent Telkom the Death Certificate of RE Kramer. Telkom refuses to acknowlege that its own Customer Service person contacted me requesting such, and I have proof of having sent such. This is TELKOM. A South African FAILURE. It doesnt know its ass from its elbow as this fiasco clearly shows. What is worse is that according to Telkom, some 1500 o bad debt has been drummed up by a DEAD PERSON, in an Old Age Village, after the line was replaced for the new incumbent at the Old Age Home. This is TELKOM. Another BADLY MANAGED, badly administered poor excuse for a parastatal. ************* and an embarrassment to South Africa.
