Telkom Agent violated the TCF Act

I took out a data sim from Telkom during the year 2020 (covid) when we had to work from home since Telkom was the cheapest on data at the time. I called and the operator did a coverage test to check whether Telkom had sufficient coverage in my area. According to him there was, and I entered into the contract only to find out there was no coverage at all. I called back and every time I was referred from one operator to another. Three months passed without receiving any help. Ultimately, I started receiving calls to pay for the monthly subscription even though I never utilized the data. The amount accumulated to almost R1700 which I than settled and requested them to cancel the contract. More than two years later, I started receiving calls from some attorney telling me that my account has been handed over to them and I have to make suitable arrangements. I explained to the consultant what transpired with the account and that it was settled. They requested a cancellation letter from me, and I told them all was done telephonically, and Telkom should be able to give them the telephone records. Months have passed and today I received a SMS that my name have been listed on the credit bureaus. If there is anybody at Telkom who can actually do their jobs instead of *****ing from consumers who also just want to make a living, please sort this mess out!!! My advice to people in non-metro areas, please avoid any contracts with Telkom! You will be paying for services that was never even render to you!!! #AngryIsAnUnderStatement
