<p>I have been a loyal customer for 30years+ with telkom. I later had my line split to a 4mb/s dsl line.</p> <p> </p> <p>End of April 2017 I decided to start a contract with Afrihost for the 4mb/s line as it was more cost effective than telkom.</p> <p> </p> <p>Sinse Saturday, the 20th of May my speed has been reduced to less than 2mb/s. After lenghty discussions with both these service providers, I was informed the following..."Last week Saturday was the 19th, the regrade took place from the 21st. This<br />> is due to the Telkom Exchange that is in your area, readjusting itself so's<br />> not to put strain on it so reducing the line speed was the practical<br />> solution."</p> <p>This to me is unacceptable. If I buy a car on hp and meet all my obligations, the car manufacturer cannot come back in three weeks and reposses the tyres. I insist on my 4mb/s as I had previously regardless. The so called strain can only have arisen due to incompetance and should be adfressed and dealt with accordingly be it allocating more services to an overloaded system. When I app**** many years ago, I had to wait for a long time to be accepted on the system as a line was not available at that time. The same rules should apply today.</p>

Hi Yazied,
Since last week things have really just deterioted to the worst state up to a point at which I am wondering about the capabalities of telkom technicians. On Fridayday last week the phone lines went down and on Sunday the adsl line also stopped working.
On Monday I went to your telkom office in Lydenburg where Lester told me that the municipality hacked of a cable which led to this inconvenience but that they would fix it immediately.
It is a week later and the situation has not changed. The whole neighbourhood is still down.
Now my question is this? If it is known what the problem is and where the problem is, why the hell is it taking this long.
The cable has just to be joined again. If that seems to difficult, get a three year old from the nearest nursery to tell you that the red should be joined to the red, the blue to the blue and soforth as all these little wires are colour coded to my knowledge.
If the Lydenburg personnel is not capable sent in another team but please do get us up and running again asap.
My landline number is ***(which does not work) , but my cellphone number is ***. Id *** 084. Address: 18 Paul Kruger Street. Lydenburg
Thank you for your help,
Regards
Torsten

Hi Yazied,
So much for the private reply with regards to your ref no: AI ********** . That was a complete waste of time as I haven't heard from you guys since. I think telkom did in fact pack up and left.
I was at your telkom office in Lydenburg on Monday morning as all our telkom lines and internet is off since last week Saturday. I was met with empty promisses and still have nothing as yet.
Lester told me that the municipality hacked of a cable which led to this inconvenience but that they would fix it immediately.
It is a week and a half later and the situation has not changed. The whole neighbourhood is still down.
Now my question is this? If it is known what the problem is and where the problem is, why the hell is it taking this long.

But don't you chaps worry and sleep tight. Wake up only after all your customers are gone. Fibre optics are coming to town and don't run around crying after spilled milk.
Kind regards,
Torsten
