Telkom ADSL down for two weeks

My current Telkom ADSL service has been down for the past two weeks because of cable theft. I had to ask for a progress report almost everyday and it took them two weeks to let me know that telkom won't be doing any repairing because my area is a high risk area.

Today I got a reply in my twitter inbox letting me know that they can offer me an alternative solution.

Now the question is, what kind of alternative service is Telkom referring to and are you guys going to match my current service like for like in terms of pricing and service speed and uncapped data with your alternative solution?

As far as I'm concerned we have a contract that needs to be honored and so if I were to be offered a LTE service as an alternative. I would expect to pay the same amount I'm currently paying for my unlimited home package.

I Finally got feedback from Telkom letting me know that they won't be undertaking any cable theft repairs because my area is a high risk area and I should visit the nearest Telkom shop for an alternative service. I did go to they shop and signed up for a LTE uncapped for home at R899 per month contract. I checked multiple times if I have LTE coverage in my area and we also did it again at the Telkom shop just to make sure I do have coverage before signing up this contract. I got home plugged the damn thing and did some speed tests and to find out that the download speeds I get is less than 1MB. I'm lucky if I get more than anything between 2MB and 3MB. I did send a direct message to Telkom about my issue but it seems no one really cares. I guess I'm going to wait another day or two and if I don't get any feedback then I guess I'm going to have to return they equipment and cancel the contract. I refuse to be part their incompetence. I'll find another LTE provider, it'll probably cost me more but that's cost I'm prepared to take to keep my house hold connected.

I got a call from Telkom so I can tell them exactly what I'm complaining about in this review instead of them getting someone to resolve this issue. The review describes the issues that I'm having with my LTE speed and even if you send a technician they will have the same result as my testing. I need an antenna to be installed may be that could improve my LTE speed. I'm not going to continue using this service if this keeps on happening and I will escalate this issue I have with Telkom as per consumer protection act.

The new development on my frustration with Telkom. I had to cancel the ADSL service because Telkom informed via their twitter account that they wont be replacing the cables because my area is a high risk area for cable theft. Then some days later I got a bill from telkom charging me for early contract termination and I have been trying to get them to resolve for weeks. Now this damn thing is going to show up on my credit report.
