Telkom ADSL-Creating False Expectation
I honestly feel that I am being ****med and de*****ed by Telkom. I know that these are strong terms to use, but that is how I feel. I am paying for a service that I am not receiving. I signed up for Telkom ADSL 10Mbps Uncapped Home line and I am not seeing even 40% of that line speed. I thought upgrading from the 4Mbps line to the 10Mbps line would improve my line speed considerably, but I was sadly mistaken. Calling the technical help line, one can wait up to 45 min to speak to a consultant and all they do is refresh your line which does not sort the speed problem. According to the Telkom coverage on their website, a line speed of 10Mbps should be available at me residence. If you are offering a line speed of "up to" 10Mbps, the end user should at least be getting between 7 and 10Mbps, otherwise you should not offer that line speed in that area. Telkom is giving us a false expectation of the speed we think we might get by getting us to upgrade and pay for a service we are not receiving. and then are full of excuses to convince us why we are not seeing the higher speeds. In a nutshell, Telkom PLEASE do not charge us for a service you can not provide and stop creating false expectations.
