Telkom ADSL Account - KU MULLER - *** - ***

During July,August & September 2016 there was a sudden surge in my data usage with my Telkom ADSL account. Despite frequent visits to their offices at Promenade, Mitchells Plain, they could not resolve the problem. My last visit was on 26 August 2016 where I spoke to the manager Ms G. Haupt and told her that I am very unhappy with Telkom's service. She promised me that she would get someone to sort out the problem that day. I said to her if i do not get the call i am immediately cancelling the ADSL service as at that moment data bought the morning is depleted by the evening. The call did not happen. On the 29th August i cancelled the srvice with 10210. The consultant said that he would write back the data but he gave me an email address "tocfaxes" and i will have to send them an email requesting them to place the modem in the holding pool. this i did that same day. At no stage did the consultant mention anything about a cancellation form, because i would have asked him to email this form to me.

On the 4 October i stopped a debit order and also emailed Telkom a letter asking them about the extra usage. I told them as my services were curtailed by Telkom i had to seek another service provider.

M-WEB became my service provider on 29 August. On the 7 October they rep**** to my email and they advised me that there was 30gb of data active on the account. I advised them on the same day to credit my account with the unused data and that the residual amount must be deducted from the R490-00 held as a deposit by Telkom. I also advised them that any future amounts will not be paid by debit orders but by payments at the local post office. They ignored this instruction and unauthorised debit orders went through my account on at least 3 occasions. Instead of sorting out the problem of rectifying the amounts owed they have persisted in wanting to claim monies for services not rendered.

They have now sent me a 14 day letter of demand.
