Telkom Account Cancellation Reference No. ***A

Telkom Account Cancellation Reference No. ***A

Dear National Credit Manager of Telkom,

My Telkom bill ran from the 8th to the 9th of the next month. On the 7th of November 2018 I have cancelled my Telkom Account No. ***. The same day on the 7th November 2018 my internet service was switched off. Immediately when I got home I disconnected all my telephones from the landline as there was no ringing tone. I then contacted Telkom customer service and it was told to me that They have disconnected my Telkom account as per my request. I have confirmed with the consultant that my account was cancelled on the 8th of November 2018. The consultant gave me my cancellation reference no. ***A. The new month invoice was then going to start on the 9th November 2018 but, I already has no Telkom service as my Landline and internet connection was already cancelled and I use to pay my Telkom Account in advance. So you send me a Letter on the 4th February 2020 stating that my Account is in Arrears of R760.16 and I have to pay it in accordance with the National Credit Act No 34 of 2005 Section129(1)(a). Have you read the The Consumer Protection Act, No. 68 of 2008 was signed on 24 April 2009. Please do your self a favour and read Consumer Right No. 1 - 9.

So Please how can I as a consumer pay for a service that was not rendered to me. Stop sending me stupid letters. Thank you.
