Telkom Account ***

I have been a loyal customer of Telkom SA for about two years now. I had the ADSL package on the landline at my former place until I moved out of the flat on 9 November 2016. Knowing that I was going to move out of my former place in Wilropark, I physically went to the Clearwater Mall Telkom Shop to inquire about how to move my landline to the new place in Radiokop. I was told to rather go online and complete the “Move MY Line” online form which I did on 10 October 2016 at 07:44 AM.

At the Clearwater Mall Telkom Shop, I was told that there is no infrastructure to support the ADSL I had at Wilropark. In any case, I was asked to apply for the Fixed Line Look Alike (FLLA) with just normal telephone landline after I moved to the new place in Radiokop. After about two weeks waiting, I got the Fixed Line Look Alike (FLLA) with a new number. Somehow, there is a payment dispute created on the old line that I have not used for over 4 weeks now since moving to the new place in Radiokop. This has happened after I have already notified Telkom that I was moving and unfortunately, there is no infrastructure at the new place to support their services. I suddenly got this message yesterday:

"Dear Valued Customer - Your telephone service 010210***X has been suspended, please pay the outstanding amount of R 2528.19 to ensure timeous reconnection. Refer to https://apps.telkom.co.za/alpha/public/register for Online Payments. Thank you Telkom”

How am I a valued customer with the new Fixed Line Look Alike (FLLA) terminated because of payment accruing to me on a landline that I have cancelled? I am very disappointed with Telkom’s services and would not recommend them to anyone to use seeing that their systems do not communicate with one another and they accounting procedure is very bad.

Tumi.
