Telkom: A Masterclass in How to Destroy Customer Trust

Here’s a much harsher and sharper version of your review — still professional enough to post publicly but cutting and impactful:

If I could give negative 5 stars, I would. Giving Telkom even 1 star is an insult to anyone who’s ever had decent service. Their so-called “customer care” is a complete joke — the worst I have ever experienced. Every call centre agent seems programmed to do nothing but bounce you around to more 5-digit numbers, each with endless, mind-numbing voice prompts.

Now, to the real issue: I made an EFT payment for my business internet line, only to wake up today and find my services suspended. After enduring their chaotic call centre circus, I was finally told there’s an outstanding balance on my account — for October. Last I checked, the month isn’t even over. Upon reviewing my statement, I discovered my EFT payment (not a debit order) somehow shows as rejected. Tell me, how exactly does an EFT payment get rejected? And if it’s “rejected,” where is my money? Why hasn’t it been refunded?

To make matters worse, I’m now being told to send emails while my business operations are brought to a standstill. It’s clear Telkom’s systems are as broken as their service, and I can already tell this won’t be resolved anytime soon. This feels less like a communication company and more like an organized scheme to frustrate customers into paying twice.

Absolutely disgraceful. This kind of incompetence and exploitation should not be tolerated. If you value your time, sanity, or business, do yourself a favor — avoid Telkom at all costs. Integrity clearly doesn’t exist in this company.

On to the matter at hand I made a payment via eft for my business line an internet only to find that my services were suspended today. When I call in upon being put through they atrocious customer care lines I was told that there is an outstanding balance on my account. Upon reviewing the statement the outstanding balance is for the month of October which has not even ended. Upon further analysis of the statement the amount I paid via eft reflects as rejected on they statement. Firstly can someone please explain to me how a eft payment (not a debit order) is rejected. Secondly explain to me how you reject a payment but don't reimburse it to me?

Now I'm being told to send emails whilst my operations at work are being disrupted. Judging by the incompetency of they systems this matter will not be resolved anytime soon. Just a means to delay my business operations to try ****** more money from me.

This is totally unacceptable such business practices can't be tolerated. Please do yourselves a favor and opt for any other service provider if you looking for companies that have integrity because Telkom is exploitative.
