Telkom, a deceptive company that *****s from clients and have bad customer care consultants
In December 2017 I took out a contract at the Telkom Southgate branch where the consultant asked what I wanted my spending cap or limit to be to which I asked what the lowest possible limit can be and she advised that it was R1. We agreed that that is what she should put down as my limit and she further advised that if calls exceeded that limit it, it would be cut off. in March of 2018 Telkom overbills me and I am now being told that my spending limit is R500. I was livid because I have never agreed to this or been told of any fluctuations or disclaimers in the number of days that spending limit is instated. I lodged a dispute against the overbilling on several occasions to which Telkom has never followed up on regardless of being given a case number. On 16 March 2018, around 07;15, I spoke to a rude call centre agent by the name of Thandeka/Thembeka Dlamini who tells me that there is no proof that I requested that my limit be made R1 as it was a face to face transaction, she says that she cannot make any of the recordings of telephone calls I have made to Telkom available and from her side she cannot escalate the matter or transfer me to her supervisor! Why have all my other bills been consistent with my line disconnected when I reached my call limit if there has never been a limit? What is this nonsense of no proof of the transaction? this then means that all over the counter transactions were designed to rob clients because there is no proof of conversation between clients and consultants! I am extremely frustrated and appalled at the level of deception, theft and poor customer care that Telkom has displayed and the lack of professionalism that this Dlamini lady displayed.
1) Telkom is in breach of contract because they cannot debit amounts that have not been agreed upon in my account. It was, therefore, an unauthorized debit and theft. 2) Clients are not in a position to keep track on their call spending and when agreements are put in place by a service provider that is in that position and hold the necessary tools and abilities to do so, it is their responsibility to do so in good faith so that I too, can keep up my contractual agreement to pay the agreed-upon amounts at the agreed upon time. 3) Telkom is a deceptive company that misleads customers that all telephone calls are recorded and can be made available upon request. 4) Telkom customer care is horrible. Consultants need to be trained on customer care.
I will not rest until I receive redress! I will take this to necessary lengths in order to attain the redress that will be satisfactory to me.
