Telkom (a communications company) unable to communicate with its customers (nor care about them)

It is absolutely astonishing how little Telkom cares about its customers. They really do know that they have a monopoly and don't (or won't) even ATTEMPT to change their customers perceptions.

I made a request on the 4th of May to have my landline and ADSL line moved from my old home to my new home (my new home is less than 2 km's away from my old home). On the 17th of May, after hearing nothing from Telkom, we enquired. We were then told that Telkom decided to not only cancel my order but also decided to proceed and cancel my line as well. Obviously we were shocked. Why would Telkom do this? We were then told that they decided to do this because "there were an amount outstanding" on our account. What we fail to understand is why Telkom, who is a communications company, could not just pick up the phone (or email or SMS) and call me to tell me there is an amount outstanding AND that they could not proceed until it was paid. If I was aware of any amount outstanding, I would pay it immediatly. I believe in paying for services rendered out of principle. Our struggle began then. We complained to Telkom for cancelling our order and line and after A LOT of effort were phoned back by the Call Centre Manager, Ayanda. Ayanda admitted it was Telkom's fault and it would be resolved immediatly. However, they have since just gone quiet. Any attempt to phone them and follow up have proven futile. How can I get Telkom to assist me with this query? Do you not value your existing customers who wants to continue with their service? Why so much effort just to have my line moved? I am really desperate. Due to the nature of my work, access to the internet is crutial to me. If Telkom does read this and care to comment or help, please get in touch with me on ********** . I really need your help Telkom. Please.
