Telkom
I have been over billed by R500 on my Telkom SmartBroadBand LTE Contract. My current setup is 40GB anytime and 40GB night Owl Data. For the month of October I had used all my data and accepted to continue to use data for the remaining days in the month at 30 Cents a MB. My usage was 6.2GB over my package, but was billed an additional R500 on my current contract which is only R455 (Telkom Case Number - ***3) I was billed and Telkom Debited my account for this amount at the end of November. During November I had not exceeded my quota limit once it was reached, but this month received another bill for R904, which is exactly R500 over my agreed monthly installment. When contacting the Call Centre I dealt with Agent Tinyiko, who informed me that I had given permission to extend my bill by R500, not sure how this is even done and is not the case. So how can I be charged R500 extra for November if I had not even exceeded my 40GB cap. After receiving my detailed Bill from them, there are multiple things that are not adding up e.g. I have never used 17GB in one day, further to this how to you charge a person for using 200MB at R202 and then the very next line for the same amount of data only charge R60+rand. Second to this, how do you bill for usage on the 17th and then no charge for data after this date (Does not make any sense) I can confidently state that I have not used any data above my quota and receiving bills like this month on month. Either there is something wrong with their system, or they are trying to ***** money from their clients. After speaking to other persons, I see that this is a common trend with Telkom, whereby they are incorrectly charging people for data overs usage. I will be issuing them with a Letter of Demand (S29) which gives them 14 days to respond, if no response is received this will be handed over to the Sheriff of the court to issue a summons to appear in Small Claims Court.
