Technicians and Supervisors pride at providing pathetic service

I have had endless issues with my telephone line and ADSL service!

I have reported the faults more than two-dozen times, a technician would occasionally come to the premises and diagnose issues. It comes to the same conclusion each time, and the diagnosis is that the line from the street box > to the pole > to the premises is faulty. Only last month (after pleading) did a technician notice that the line was merely wrapped around the pole and not connected correctly and it is not insulated [Fault No.285CTK101016]. So each time it rains or there are heavy winds, the line is dead and it takes days for the ADSL service to be stable.

I am paying for a 10mbps ADSL service, yet the line is syncing at 6400kbps (Downstream) & 512kbps (Upstream). The current Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) is also far too low, which shows a 'poor balance' when Telkom technicians test the line and yet NOTHING is done about it.

There have been far too many empty promises to replace the line, I have been contacted by the technicians supervisor's which assurred that the line would be fixed and almost 6 months later > NOTHING!

I have attempted to contact Louis Nkwana (contact details below) after he said that the cable jointers would replace the line in September and have received no responses:

Louis Nkwana
NFS:NER Quality
Cell: ********** 257
Tel: ********** 380
Fax: ********** 556
e-mail: ********** **********

I am now fed up with having to constantly report the faults, and NOTHING is done about it.

The current fault reference numbers are: 884CTK031116 (falsely reported as restored and a technician did not even visit the premises) & 171CTK081116
