Still waiting for my LTE service to be reinstated and get no feedback.

At the beginning of May 2017 my direct debit for my LTE service bounced, it was totally my fault but I was away, did not check my bank statement and did not receive one of the 20 sms messages that I have subsequently found that were sent to my router, not my actual contact number.

On Tuesday 23rd May, as soon as I returned, I contacted the call center, I spoke to a very helpful lady who told me I needed to pay the outstanding amount of R807. I did it immediately. I also bank with ABSA so the amount should have reflected immediately. However I was told it would take 2-72 hours. I rang them back later that day, again on Wednesday, and again on Thursday morning only to be told the money was not reflecting on my account and that i need to be patient.

I rang again Thursday evening and was told the money was reflecting, but I still owed R200.94 missed payment fee!!! Had I been told that on Tuesday I would have paid the whole lot. I spoke to a team leader on Thursday evening, who told me to pay the outstanding balance and then send her the proof of payment and she will escalate it for me. I did so. She assured me the service will be up and running either Thursday evening or latest Friday morning.

Friday morning came and still no internet. I rang again. The manager I spoke to the previous evening was not in yet so I sent her an email. She responded saying she had not heared back from collections. I rang again later Friday afternoon, I was again told to be patient the money was not yet reflecting on my account (even though I had sent the proof of payment).

Saturday, no internet. Sunday, no internet. I called again. The agent I spoke to then said it would be escalated again and they will speak to Lusana. They promised I would get a call back with an update before 5pm, which of course I didnt.

Monday morning, no internet. I call again. After having to explain myself and speaking to different agents each time, I was getting very annoyed. I asked to speak to another manager on duty. I sent the proof of payment again to the agent, who assured me he would forward it to a manager to escalate (again) and that he, Luthando, would send me an email back with an update.

That was at 11am Monday morning, it is now 1pm and I still have not received any update.

My problems are:

You can't just speak to one person to sort out your problem

No one comes back to you when they say they will

By all accounts Billing and Collections do not have a direct line to speak to someone there, being a telecommunications company I find this very hard to believe.

I just want my internet up and running. I am sure I will not get a credit for the week without internet, nor for the calls I have had to make to Telkom to find out what is going on. However they obviously have no problem with charging me an additional R200 just for late payment.

I wish there was an alternative to Telkom!
