Still no internet
I switched my modem off the Thursday before Easter weekend (18 April) as we were going away. When we got back on the Monday and switched it back on, it was not connecting to the internet. The internet light on the modem was not coming on - it wasn't even going red. I called 10210, and the technician tried to help me over the phone with resetting it etc. When this failed to rectify the situation, he told me the best thing would be to take it in to a Telkom shop for them to check the modem because there didn't seem to be any issues with the line. I took it in to a Telkom shop, where they tested the modem, and found nothing wrong with it - I was able to connect to the internet with my modem in the store. However, when I got home, the internet light was still not coming on. I then logged a fault. This was on Thursday 25 May. On Sunday I missed a call from, I assume, Telkom, because I then got a message to say they had tried to call several times (there was only 1 missed call). I called 10210 to find out if there was an update, and was told that a technician was testing the line. On Monday I was sent a message to say the problem had been resolved, but when I got home from work, I still couldn't connect, and there was still no internet light. I called 10210, and the call centre agent told me that there was nothing more they could do other than send out a technician to my premises as the line was syncing. She then closed the fault, despite there being no resolution. I then called back and requested that a technician be sent out as it needed to get resolved. That was on Monday. It is now Thursday. I have yet to hear from a technician in the week and half that I have had no connection -I keep calling to find out if there is any update, but nobody seems to know what's going on. In the meantime I lost 32 gigs of data that expired on the 30th of April. For a telecommunications company, they don't have much communication s****s.
