Still having issues, I can't even get a normal telephone line.

In February I placed an order for an adsl line and then it was cancelled because Telkom does not have the infrastructure and if I can give them a telephone line number with adsl then they will further investigate. I reported this on hellopeter and still, nothing happened.

In July I placed a new order for just a normal telephone and heard nothing. I phoned today again to follow up and I was told it was cancelled because Telkom doesn't see it feasible to provide me with a telephone line.

How can this be? Normal telephone lines and adsl is still very much in fashion and popular, why can't I get it? Why advertise if Telkom doesn't want to supply the infrastructure?

I spoke to about 10 people in my area and they also said Telkom is giving them the same story. Clearly, there is a need but Telkom just doesn't care.
