Still charging for ADSL when Fibre is installed

So for the past 2 months I have been charged for DSL Fast and Telephone line, when I recieved a free fibre upgrade on the 28th of May. I phoned in 3 times today, first call was a 44min wait and put down. Second call I got through and spoke to the Billing department. According to her, I have to cancel the ADSL myself. Even though I'm with Telkom, I as a customer have to cancel something, even though it has been upgraded to Fibre. Why cant Telkom to this themselves? Why must the customer do the job of the service provider for them?
The best part though, is that I have been trying to get my internet upgraded to the current R599.00 promo for a 4meg uncapped deal. But I cant even do that because my upgrade from May is still not complete. They need to install a Telephone before I can do the upgrade.
The fact that a customer cannot walk into their local Telkom store, do enquiries or anything related to Fixed Internet any more is just shocking. They have now forced their clientel, to make use of an already useless call centre, to sort out anything that is what Telkom was/is, an ISP. They are trying to cut off a face to face customer relationship, which is what I myself prefer before any technological relationship (call centre, online support, etc).
