*****ing

Where do I begin,

Firstly, I have told telkom (over the phone to their call centre literally over 30 times - they have proof of this; and I've been to a branch in Claremont, waited in the queue for over 2 hours and told one of their representatives) that I would like them to set the way I receive my billing, to email.

I have also told Telkom - again for which they have proof, to cancel a line on my account 5 months ago. It was confirmed to me on several occasions that the line had been cancelled but each time I phoned in to check, they hadn't cancelled it. I eventually spoke to a lady who said that I needed to send an email to: *** saying that I want to cancel the line. I sent the email to get an automated response saying the server is full/account doesn't exist! I then, a few days later, phone telkom AGAIN to tell them. I then get told: "no don't worry, email it to this account instead": ***. I then email them later and get the same response. After phoning them AGAIN, I finally got through to someone who helped me send the mail to another address. This time I receive a mail saying that the line will be cancelled. Yay eventually! Or so I thought.

Several days ago I received a sms saying that my account is due and that I need to pay my bill otherwise my account will be suspended. I go to my email and find that they havent emailed me my bill, and in order for me to pay my bill I need the EFT reference number. So as you can work out, I can't pay the bill if I don't have the bill itself as the bill is the only thing that has that specific reference number. So I open my sms again to find out what to do.

The sms left the following line: For any enquiries call Fathima ***. This number either doesn't exist or the phone must be in a ba*****t somewhere, because I have phoned it countless times (during telkom's standard operating hours 8am - 5:45pm) with no answer and no ability to leave a message.

I then resort to phoning the telkom call centre, which by now I know the input codes and the operatives by name. Each of which seaming to say that my problem is not their department (Billing department btw), and so on and so forth. I eventually get hold of a supervisor named Sia who then told me that I shouldve phoned the number on the sms. Anyway after explaining the situation to him (which now I had my story down to a perfect summary due to the sheer amount of times I had to explain it to different people), he then after more questions about when I received the sms and that I should've phone Fathima, he told me that he doesn't have the s****s to handle it. All that needed to be done - as I'm sure you can understand - is that someone sends the bill to me via email or carrier ***eon or morse code and I pay the amount to prevent my account from being suspended. But the supervisor can't help me with that.

To add to it, I set up a mytelkom account a while back in order to try and monitor my stuff rather than phoning operatives all the time. I saw on my mytelkom account that a large part of my account owing is amounts from the last few months for the line I "cancelled" 5 months ago.

My account was then suspended and they have said that they can't process my line cancellation dispute at the time, so I have had to pay the full bill in order to un-suspend my account.

Finally, I am still waiting for telkom to un-suspend my account.
