Stay away from Telkom Mobile!

BE VARY AWARE OF SIGNING DEALS WITH TELKOM!!!. With Telkom mobile, you get offered deals contracts almost on a monthly basis, but if you try to cancel the contract after the expiration date you have your job cut out for you, IT WILL TAKE YOU MONTHS AND MANY FRUSTRATING HOURS to cancel it. And then even after 3 months of receiving confirmation that your contract has been cancelled, you are still being billed monthly for those contracts!!! On 1 Nov 2017 I sent an e-mail to ********** requesting that they cancel the insurance of one of my devices: "Please assist in cancelling my insurance: MSISDN". I received the following response on 17 Dec 2017: "Welcome to telkom cellular insurance, attached please find your policy schedule". Ok, so who ever the idiot is that eventually read my e-mail did not understand one word of that sentence! On 18 Dec 2017 I rep**** to same e-mail with: "Please cancel this insurance with immediate effect, this phone is already insured by another institution". I received no response up to 14 Jan 2018. By 15 Jan 2018 I received my statement and I was STILL being billed for the insurance I went to the Key West branch to cancel one of my expired contracts and the insurance deal. (BE AWARE, this is the WORST branch if you would like to receive ANY customer services, be prepared to spend AT LEAST an hour in the queue before you get attended to!) Low and behold after standing in the queue for ages, they could not assist me because I did not have my GREEN BARCODED ID with me, your drivers license does not count ... What day and age are we living in TELKOM??? I was however handed a form to complete and an e-mail address to send it to: ********** So I completed the form requesting for both deals to be cancelled and e-mailed it the same day (15 Jan 2018). By 22 Jan 2018 I have not received ANY response so I forwarded the same e-mail to ********** (Got the mail address from the telkom website). On 14 Feb 2018 I received my statement and I was still being billed for both!! So I forwarded my previous email to Finrite: "Please cancel my insurance policy: ********** 6089 with immediate effect, incl. my ID number". I received a response the next day! : Your cellphone insurance has been cancelled as per request. Please note there is a 30 days notice period" What???? I requested for this policy to be cancelled on 1 Nov 2017!!! 30 days notice?????? So .... I decided to visit the Telkom branch in WESTGATE this time on Sunday 18 Feb 2018. I was received friendly and professionally (TAKE NOTE KEY WEST) and there was no queue!! HOWEVER ... the consultant could see the expired deal and insurance was still on my account, but to him it looked that they are in the process of being cancelled. "Please be patient sir, I am sure it will be sorted very soon now" NOTE: From the expiry date of my contract for the deal I have been trying to cancel, consultants have been phoning me EVERY month to offer me an upgrade for the deal. EVERY time they call me I ask them very nicely that I DO NOT WANT TO UPGRADE, I WANT IT CANCELLED!!! Their responce: "I am sorry sir, I can not assist you with that, there is a different department handling cancellations". I know that, problem is everyone working in that department have stopped breathing long ago!!! I am at the end of the line with this. My account is paid fully up to date (Including the two deals I have been trying to cancel for many months.). I received my statement today (6 June 2018) and guess what? I AM STILL BEING BILLED FOR THESE TWO DEALS!!!! I am now demanding 7 months refund for the insurance deal and 5 months refund for my expired cellphone deal before I pay another cent to this USELESS institution! I will hopefully one day be able to cancel ALL my contracts with TELKOM!!
