Sneaky billing to cover increases

I have had a Telkom line with 4mb ADSL line for years. I recently cancelled my 20gb bandwidth bundle in favour of using FNB Connect, which is free with my level of eBucks so is a no-brainer. I called the Telkom Call Centre to confirm to assess the impact on my account to ensure that my choice made sense. From the conversation, I stood to save around R80 a month, so cancelled the bandwidth bundle. My bill went down from R512 in Nov and R513 in Dec to R434 in Jan, as quoted.

But, then in Feb I've been billed R460 and Mar R505, so I'm back where I started - without the bandwidth bundle!!

I have no doubt that Telkom thought they could get away with this since they have NEVER sent me monthly statements and, when I call their accounts department, they apologise for the \recent\" email billing fault. I wouldn't call FOUR YEARS recent!!

It's disgusting that a monopoly like Telkom gives false promises through the Call Centre, then just ups the billing to make up for the shortfall, without any notification to client! Any normal company would have to up their game to remain competitive!

I require the Call Centre's quote to be honoured and a credit for the additional I've been charged."
