Slow delivery

I've tried to get internet hooked up for my home using Telkom, They are super slow! Apparently it was going to be a 1-3 week wait for it at the outset, It's already the 4th week and still no luck, This is also an extraodinarily long time to wait for somebody to provide you a service that you will pay them for, only once it's connected, I found it hard to believe when they told me in store, that one must wait for 3 weeks before connection is made, As a business if it were not for their monopoly in the local market, they'd surely have been ****ed by competition by now had there been any. The 21st century it seems has not come to Africa just yet........Thanks for nothing Telkom :-)

Thank you Ilhaam,

please note that to date, nobody has contacted me from Telkom side as yet,

It's now end of February, meaning one month of my 24 month contract has already expired!

23 months to go, hopefully you will get some money out of me, and I, some service out of you guys, by the time the 2 years is up.......

Today I tried calling Telkom customer care on call centre, they could not help me, in fact they told me I should also go back to the store at which I app**** for my contract, either that or they advised, I should call "10213" Of course I could not call the number because I don't have the line installed....Anyways I asked them to patch me through to sales, I followed the voice prompts and then I finally went through to the DSL orders department, I waited patiently on the line for 5 minutes and nobody answered....This is a warning to anybody seeking Telkom as a service provider, think twice before you go through this kind of misery....32 days gone without my line being installed...And still counting

The wait goes on, 17 March 2017, still no instalation, I visited the Telkom store last Sunday and they informed me, that this order was escalated for follow up, but they also said that I could cancel it whenever I liked if I felt Telkom was taking too long, While Telkom have been taking so long, Vumatel have come in, and given us a quote for Fiber into our complex, with intention to install within a month. I said I won't cancel the order because I will wait to see which service provider can install first (Telkom has had a 2 month head start, so let's see how this plays out) Earlier this week, I did receive an SMS from Telkom, stating that my order was planned for delivery on 16 March 2017, yesterday....needless to say I didn't receive any installation nor did I receive any communication about the change to the plans.......Telkom, this is getting to a stage where it's becoming comical at best...I'm not even upset anymore....I will get a connection soon enough....probably through a different service provider.....It's just funny to see how you guys have been tripping up over yourselves for such a simple job......

Today 19 March 2017 (original order date was for 18 February) I was at home all day long, I decided to go out to gym for an hour, come back home and I see a missed call so I called them back and it was a Telkom Technician, he says he came to my house (without warning to me, no call or message or communication to notify me he will come through at any stage whatsoever) just rocks up and expects me to be here, The wonderful service from Telkom continues....

I had finally received an installation on 20 March 2017, and the guy that was going to install, actually called me before he came through, to make sure I'd be there, All in all it took approximately 2 months for them to get a line installed for me.......super slow....but having said that, the line does as promised so far, and seems to be working decently well
