Since February with no working landline phone
A faulty ADSL / Analog line was reported on the 19th February. The fault was: Everytime it rained, the ADSL line went off. In addition to this, the telephone line installation outside the building was in a poor state with unhooked cable hooks and tension on the lines being taken by the physical connections on the poles.
Nothing was done by Telkom.
The next time it rained, the ADSL went off.
BUT so did the landline, and then to make it worse, the phone would ring incessantly with no incoming being being present. So we unplugged the phone and waited.
Nothing happened, but a week later after spending more than R1000 on mobile broadband data, the ADSL started working again.
But still no phone-line, which has been paid for every month.
A different handset was tried on the dead phone line, to eliminate handset error. Still dead.
BUT when the phone-line gets plugged in, the ADSL line cuts off.
It is now April.
