Shocking service when disabled person tries to upgrade ADSL

Well I have almost given up with trying to get Telkom to just do the job that I am paying them to do. Iapp**** 3 weeks ago to upgrade my ADSl line as I had finally secured an on-line job after being unemployed for almost a year. I am disabled so have really been struggling to get a job so was really happy that I can finally earn an income again but before I can start the new job, I need to upgrade my ADSL line as the speed is too slow. Well that is where the problem started - I (unrealistically) expected Telkom to do their job!!

When I did the order request, I was advised that it would take 48 hours. When I called after 48 hours I was told it would take up to 7 days. When I called after 7 days, someone in the "back office" had just cancelled my order with no contact with me. I then had to re-instate the order and was advised that it can take yup to 14 days.

Well it has since been escalated, I have spoken to 3 supervisors who all promised to look into the delay and call me back which they didn't and I still have no idea when it will be done.

I have explained my situation and that I am concerned that I will lose this job if I am not able to start soon and it is very difficult to get a job in this country if you are disabled but no-one cares!!! Who can I talk to at Telkom that will actually show a little compassion for a very frustrated customer of 25 years who desperately needs to start earning an income and just wants them to do their job!!!!

Reviewer Update

My ADSL line was finally upgradaed 2 days after posting this review.

I am still very sad & angry that I had to resort to this to get them to just do their job!!

I do not wish to change my review rating as their service was really bad on this whole matter!!
