Shocking service ........ or no service at all !!!!

We have been trying to have the LTE internet changed to the new address since January 2017. It has been FIVE MONTHS of calling Telkom helpline, which sometimes rings for 4 - 5 hours with nobody answering. When, on the rare occasion they do answer the helpline, we are told that they have to email the technicians and a call reference is given and the technical department is supposed to contact us. We have not heard a word from the technical department to date, although we have approximately 20 case numbers!!!! Apparently the technical department does not have a direct telephone line but correspondence has to be via email. This actually makes a lot of sense as no one can contact them and they do not have to do anything at all as they cannot be contacted and emails can just be ignored or deleted. They need to remain anonymous and uncontactable!!

We have also been into Telkom stores to try and sort this debacle out. They are just as useless as again the procedure starts. No, you can't phone the technical department directly, yes, we will send an email to them and they will contact (which they never do). Again a case number is given - cannot think why as it is meaningless. This is probably given just to get rid of the customer or to make the customer feel that something is about to be done.

Of course, a week later, the sense of expectation that finally the problem will be sorted out, has evapourated. Once again the circle of phoning the helpline, going into a Telkom store, being told the same old story starts again, all to absolutely no avail.

How is it possible, in this day and age, that a technical department of a telephone network does not have a direct telephone line??

How can it possibly take FIVE MONTHS to sort out a simple problem such as this one??

In the meantime, on the 1st of each month, Telkom processes the debit order!!!! Therefore, for 5 months we have been paying for a non-existent service, have no internet connectivity and have wasted endless time trying to sort the problem out.

Is Telkom going to compensate us for the wasted time trying to get the helpline to answer, the travelling to the store to try and sort this matter out and the time wasted waiting to be served in the store??? Not to mention the inconvenience of trying to conduct business and having to use and find alternative internet sources.

This service is unacceptable and the service provider, Telkom, is abominable!!!

This problem needs to be rectified with immediate effect as we are paying for the service for a reason - WE NEED THE INTERNET TO CONDUCT BUSINESS.

Is this really too much to ask?
